Our clients wished to redevelop the site of their existing shop and adjacent dwelling-house.
With this in mind they gave us three weeks to produce an initial concept design for consideration.

The resulting design evolved through site and context analysis, as well as being a response to our clients’ requirements.

Emphasis was placed on the thermal efficiency of the building envelope and on robustness of materials, given the exposed marine environment in which it would be located.

When funds permit it is intended that photovoltaic panels, heat exchangers and heat pump technology will be employed to further reduce the environmental impact of the shop and cafe.
