We were commissioned to provide design, specification, and contract administration services, for the complete refurbishment and enlargement of this Victorian shop and three-storey apartment, in the centre of Aberystwyth.

Appropriate, contemporary intervention, together with sympathetic refurbishment, and conservation works have given the historic town-centre building a new lease of life for the 21st century and beyond.

The project included removal of an existing dilapidated two-storey addition within the external enclosed courtyard, followed by the construction of a new extension which fully in-filled the yard at ground and first floor levels. At ground floor the extension provided additional shop service areas, whilst at first floor level the flat now has a new kitchen and associated facilities.

Our conservation experience and passion for contemporary design were both employed in this project.
